Every child deserves to be safe, online and off. ARACY’s submission responds to the Digital Duty of Care exposure draft, setting out why online platforms should be held to the same safety standards as any other space children use. We draw on insights from our Young and Wise participants, who told us what online spaces mean to them, both the risks and the real value.
“I couldn’t talk to anybody in my real life about being queer. So of course I went to online spaces. And the same is also true for my friends who are part of like racial minorities... finding community online was essential to me figuring out who I was.”
