The Wellbeing Playlist

A story collection for every part of a child’s wellbeing

This year, Raising Children Network, Australia’s most trusted evidence-based parenting website, turns 20. To mark the milestone, StoryBox Hub, Raising Children Network, and ARACY have come together as partners to support Australian families.

Together, we’ve created the Wellbeing Playlist: a collection of 12 StoryBox Hub titles, each one matched to a domain of The Nest. Whether you’re reading together at home or sharing stories in the classroom, these titles offer an easy, everyday entry point to meaningful conversations.

Grounded in The Nest

The collection is guided by The Nest, ARACY’s evidence-based framework for understanding child and youth wellbeing. The Nest describes wellbeing as six connected parts:

• Participating
• Positive sense of identity and culture
• Material basics
• Learning
• Valued, loved and safe

None of these sits alone. Each one supports and strengthens the others, and a good story can gently touch on all of them at once.

What’s included?

Every title in the Wellbeing Playlist comes with downloadable resources, including curated content for parents from Raising Children Network, as well as ideas for parents and educators on ways to extend the story into conversation and play.

StoryBox Hub has also matched further titles for those who want to discover more stories linked to wellbeing.
