    Investment in evaluation as important as Closing the Gap expenditure

    More evaluation is needed to ensure government expenditure on Closing the Gap programs actually delivers results. And as the 2016 Overcoming Indigenous Disadvantage (OID) Report reveals, we are not investing enough in evaluation. As a result, we don’t know if what we’re doing today is getting us closer to all the outcomes we want to achieve to overcome the disadvantage faced by many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and youth.

    Government must act to reduce poverty in Australia

    ARACY – the national source of evidence on wellbeing of Australian children and youth ‒ calls on the Australian government to look at the root causes of poverty in Australia. The critical role of material basics for child and youth wellbeing is evidenced in the national action and measurement plan The Nest.
