This is ARACY’s submission to the Inquiry into Domestic, Family, and Sexual Violence.

Intimate partner violence is the largest contributing risk factor to the burden of disease in women,
exceeding other risk factors. Exposure to family violence, including intimate partner violence, has a significant negative effect on the wellbeing and development of children. Strategies that aim to prevent family violence as well as strategies aimed to reduce the negative impacts of violence are necessary to address this burden of disease for women and the flow-on effects to their children.
