What We Do
Young and Wise Roundtables
We believe young people must have a voice in shaping the policies and initiatives that impact them.
The Young and Wise Roundtables brings together a diverse group of young people to share their lived experiences, insights, and ideas on issues that matter to them. By working collaboratively with policymakers, researchers, and advocates, the Young and Wise roundtables ensure that youth perspectives are embedded in decision-making processes, helping to create a future where all young Australians can thrive.

Tell us what you think about Sex Ed and Social Media
We want to hear from you!
ARACY is inviting young people aged 18–25 to participate in a Young and Wise Roundtable on sexual health, contraception, and sex education. Your insights will directly inform ARACY’s work and help shape the Australian Government policy, which aims to provide people with clear, evidence-based information to support informed conversations with healthcare providers.
The Department of Health and Aged Care is also keen to understand how social media influences young people’s perceptions of contraception, particularly hormonal methods, and how this affects decision-making. This is your chance to help shape better support and resources for young Australians.
Key Discussion Themes:
- Sex Education – Does school or other sex education prepare you for real-life decisions? What’s missing? Is it inclusive?
- Social Media Influence – How does online content shape your views on contraception and sexual health?
- Accessing Information – Where do you learn about contraception and sex education? How much do you trust these sources?
- Communication and Stigma – How comfortable are you discussing contraception and sexual health with friends, partners, trusted adults and healthcare providers?
