Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth

Around Australia

The Nest is a national action plan to mobilise, align and enable the efforts of those working to improve the wellbeing of children and youth in Australia (0–24 years).

This task is a national endeavour involving many sectors and a long timeframe, involving the collective efforts of individuals, agencies, programs and services, government departments and policy makers, research institutions, advocacy groups and representative organisations across the country.

ARACY sees ‘The Nest in action’ as initiatives that directly relate to improving child and youth wellbeing in one or more of The Nest domains of ‘Loved and Safe’, ‘Material basics’, ‘Healthy’, ‘Learning’, ‘Participating’ and ‘Positive sense of culture and identity’.

Some examples of ‘The Nest in action’ include initiatives undertaken by the:

Logan Together Maribyrnong City Council

Moreland City Council Opportunity Child

Moonee Valley Melbourne Every Child Succeeds
