Australian Child and Youth Wellbeing Atlas

The Australian Child and Youth Wellbeing Atlas is a powerful, interactive online tool that brings together geospatial and temporal data to visualise the health and wellbeing of children and young people aged 0 to 24 across Australian communities.

This freely accessible resource supports government agencies, researchers, and community organisations to better identify, understand, and respond to local and national wellbeing priorities. By mapping a wide range of indicators, the Atlas enables geographically sensitive policy-making, highlights service gaps, and supports more targeted investment and research opportunities.

Grounded in ARACY’s evidence-based Nest Wellbeing Framework, the Atlas presents data across six key domains of child and youth wellbeing: being loved and safe, having material basics, being healthy, learning, participating, and having a positive sense of culture and identity. This shared framework ensures consistency in how wellbeing is measured and understood, supporting a more holistic, strengths-based approach.

Originally developed from the Western Australian Child Development Atlas, the national Atlas launched in November 2023 and continues to expand its reach and impact.

Through the Atlas, ARACY is helping to democratise access to data, strengthen cross-sector collaboration, and support better outcomes for children and young people—wherever they live.
