Parent Engagement Project

About the Project

ARACY has been commissioned by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training to undertake the Parent Engagement Project over four years (2014-2018), with a specific focus on primary and secondary school age children nationwide.

Parent engagement is one of the four key pillars of the Government’s Students First policy, which aims to improve student outcomes and the quality of Australian schools.

The Parent Engagement Project aims to develop and promote a shared understanding of what parent engagement is and why it matters, to encourage a consistent and ongoing approach to the measurement of its impact, and to build and share evidence about ‘what works’.

The project also seeks to build the profile of parent engagement, including through the establishment of the Australian Parent Engagement Network and the appointment of National Ambassadors and Local Champions.

Australian Parent Engagement Network

The Australian Parent Engagement Network is a virtual space for people passionate about engaging families in their children’s learning and education. The Network supports online collaboration and conversation about parent engagement, providing access to research, resources, practice tips and offering the opportunity to contribute to the national Parent Engagement Project.

Membership is free. To register your interest email or call 02 6248 2400.
