ARACY is supported by a variety of wonderful volunteers who contribute to the various activities of the organisation, from day-to-day operations, supporting member and network activities and events, writing and reviewing articles, and more.

Our volunteers are students, stay-at-home parents, part time and full time workers, researchers, practitioners, who wish to contribute to the work of ARACY and The Nest and are passionate about child and youth wellbeing.

Why volunteer with ARACY?

ARACY is not-for-profit agency, providing a values fit pro bono employment opportunity for people seeking to gain work experience at Australia’s peak organisation for children and youth.

The opportunity

ARACY offers suitably qualified volunteers the opportunity to make a contribution to ARACY supporting work on a project or providing general business administration support for the Executive, Finance or Projects sections. In particular, we are the lookout for skills in:

  • Research and survey evaluation
  • Event logistics
  • Project management
  • Office administration.

All ARACY volunteers receive references. All volunteers must:

  • have the lawful right to work in Australia
  • behave at all times in ways that accord with the ARACY Code of Conduct, policies and procedures.

Note: The specific nature of the work and duration of the volunteer work period will be discussed with the applicant pending submission of the following documents:

  • CV to ascertain relevant experience and skills
  • Working visa or proof of Australian citizenship/residency
  • Referees
  • Police check
  • Working with children check.
